After 18+ years we are sad to announce that Stuffnet is ending. The truth has become all to apparent that we can no longer compete with the plethora of free e-newsletters on culture from so many ministries. While we believe they do a lazy job by just giving subscribers hyperlinks to articles and missing many better sources, this seems to be enough for those subscribers. Our subscribers are at an all-time low and the cost of the primary sources we pull from as well as the time to breakdown the articles makes Stuffnet no longer viable.
Our last issue is June 5, 2008. If funding comes in or some other surprise, we would love to restart Stuffnet. Stuffnet began in 1990 as the first resource Wild Frontier offered but it was actually called Stuff back then and was delivered monthly through the mail. Overtime it was changed to Stufffax and was delivered by fax bi-weekly. Due to the great technological changes of recent days, the resource transformed to Stuffnet. Our history also includes the Stuffed Culture Collection which was a compilation of everything from the previous five years of Stuff, Stufffax, or Stuffnet categorized and updated every six months. That resource went the way of the dinosaurs after Google was invented. Our popular resources of Pair of Cleats and Moms & Pops Stuff will be continuing. So after 18+ years of collecting stuff (Brenda Seefeldt has been doing this for 25 years), Wild Frontier will be moving in a different direction but also the same direction that will challenge youth ministries to live an “out there” faith. Pray for us as we make these changes. |
